Hi Mona,

To dry the Cellulose Nanofiber, you can try freeze drying technique or spray drying. These two techniques work fine. Generally , when you dry in oven or air oven, the nanofiber remains stuck in the glassware. So drying in above mentioned technique would give you fluffy kind of product, that you can easily separate, characterize and use it further for various kind of applications.

I think the exchange with organic solvent non green, and organic solvent could effect also the physicochemical proprieties of nano whiskers of cellulose?But freeze drying is more used to drying cellulose and polysaccharides without affecting theirs proprieties.

Drying is removal of a liquid from solid/semisolid/suspension nanocelluloses to produce solid product by thermal energy input causing phase change. You want to do physical and chemical characterization for your prepared nanocellulose sample such as IR analysis, X-ray diffraction, degree of oxidation ... etc. Depends on the size of your material as well as what you are looking for; you may select a right method that can fit all. The morphological properties of the dried nanocelluloses are dependent on the particular drying method. Air or oven dry might affect the sample properties. Different technologies (alternate technique to dry) have been developed for drying nanocellulose at lab, pilot and large scale production such as spray drying, freeze drying, supercritical drying etc. If any further inquiries, please feel free to communicate.
