Using solar (particularly CSP) power generation with salt water as a coolant, and recycling the (now 'purified') water for potability is my dream and I'd like to know if I can contribute in any way?
As a general comment, if you follow the federal budget appropriations, you may have noticed that congress gave $20M in funding to the Advanced Manufacturing Office at the US Department of Energy to start a desalination HUB. In addition, the SunShot office at the US Department of Energy had budget language to spend $15M on solar thermal desalination.
I realize this is a question on a specific project at a non-US university, but it doesn't hurt to know this regardless.
