Dear Researchers, I have a problem with the synthesis of the PMMA/PVP blend. I used the chloroform/methanol (90%/10%) as a mixed solvent and the sample annealed at 80C. but after annealing the sample cracks and appears not homogenous!!. Is there any problem with the solvent or with the annealing method?

I guess the problem is in mixing ratio of PMMA and PVP. Check first these to have good miscibility or not.poor miscibility leads easy cracking after solidification

I worked on methyl methacrylate copolymer. The point that occurs during the polymerization of methyl methacrylate is very sensitive to other monomers and polymers. In my opinion, this optimum ratio is more effective on the phase separation of these two plastics.
Dear: I decided to use a compatibilizer but İ just want to point out that I am using a pre-prepared polymer which means I am not working on polymerization. Now the question is could I use compatibilizer material with a pre-prepared polymers
