I'm looking for a model of an internal combustion engine for my graduation course. I've already found some articles of it, but I'm not a Mechanical Engineer and I'm struggling to understand that.

I need a mathematical model of an diesel engine running with methane that tels me, based on a input of fuel flow (methane), gives me as output the engine RPM. With that I'm going to find the balance point between the gas flow input and eletric energi generatio as output.

This is really hard to me to do. If someone can give me any tips or advice where to start I'll be thankful.

It has to be done in Matlab because it is the only mathematical software I have a license.
