Here, s4b(1,2,3) are untreated cotton fabric,s3b(1,2,3) are treated fabric with silk and silver mixture,s(21,22,23) are silver nanoparticle and s(11,12,13) are silk nanoparticle
Please anyone interpret the SEM analysis result

you can do the following observations , use any image anlysis free softwere..first carefully observe the softwere and practice few examples
then go for testing your images
1. in case of same magnification, you can find diameter by image analysis free software's
2. you can observe surface roughness, it said to be smooth , if dots are not there, you can also measure the dia of dots
3. in first pic, out of about 9 fibers , 3rd one from top is defective , its not cylindrical the surface is bulged
4. in second image u can see one fiber very clear, its surface is not perfectly smooth..
5. in fourth pic , you can find the defects and flakes

Hello,
first, you should discuss the images with the person who made the images and the person with experience in fibres.
Second, looking at your images:
- Series s4*.tif, s3*.tif show some signs of charging, especiall at high magnification (the metadata show nomal aperture and short intergation time in line integration mode).
Were the fibres coated to improve conductivity or did you use the VP mode?
You can do imaging with lower current (smaller aperture) and frame inegtration using fast scan speed and many frames (drift corrected frame averaging if available).

What are the regular objects (needles) in series s1*.tif?
Are the silk NP the very small spheres or are these the Ag NP?
- Can you use other detectors to enhance the contrast between cotton fibres and silk (try InLens) or between organic material and Ag (try BSE)?
Can You define the aim of Your work? What information do You want to get from the images?
For a comparison You should also use identical magnification.
Comparing the images of untreated and treated fibres s4b125.tif vs. s3b223.tif (different magnification), and s4b327.tif vs. s3b122.tif (same magnification, image width 35 µm) could lead to the conclusion that the untreated fibre is smooth, the treatment (no information given) increases roughness.
The images of your “nanoparticles” s1201.tif & s2204.tif have much higher, but different magnification (image width 6.67 µm and 4.31 µm).
It would be hard to see the NPs (small spheres in s1201.tif? small bright particles in s2204.tif?) in image s3b122.tif (pixel separation: 35 nm).

Generally, we study SEM images for understanding the surface morphology of materials. You can compare fiber sizes, density, defects in your samples. You can measure width of fiber in SEM using point-to-point measurement. For better images take EHT- 2.5 kV, WD-
