Curcumin, the major component of common food spice, turmeric, is a potential compound for the treatment and prevention of a wide variety of human diseases and has wide spectrum of biological and pharmacological activities. Various novel drug delivery systems of curcumin such as various nanoparticles, micellar formulations, liposomes and cyclodextrin inclusion complexes are developed that have been reported in order to improve the solubility, bioavailability and efficacy of curcumin.

You can use surfactants or polymeric micelles. In the case of polymeric micelles, you can also lyophilise after the incorporation of curcumin.

If you want to increase the absorption of Curcumin in body then add powder Black pepper or its alcoholic extract rich with piperine, which enhances, increases  absorption and bioavailability of curcumin in body. or

If you want to increase the solubility with non-toxic compounds add a small amount(diluted solution) of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3). Even very diluted solution of NaOH or KOH can also be used. or

Edible oil can also be used to increase the solubility.

Try 1:9 or 2:8 ethanol:water system. It will enhance the solubility in aqueous environment.

To enhance the solubility of curcumin administer it along with any vegetable oil. That is why nature has incorporated an oil into turmeric rhizomes.
