Hello everyone,
I am new to Abaqus so I need your help and I wish to import my material input file in my model. I have to run so many models, so I made a input file in notepad by defining the materiel properties and saving as .inp file. Now I want to say that in my running model, as there are so many models and sections, this will reduce the repetitive work.

HI! you can use the *INCLUDE command in your input file.
Add the material info into a separate file and call that file in your main file with the command:
*INCLUDE, INPUT=myfile.inp
Just be sure to include it in the right place. Abaqus is a bit annoying about the succession of the commands

If I have understood your problem correctly, you will change some parameters in your input file every time you run an analysis. If that is the case, you have to either use some 3rd party application that runs the loop and changes the parameters iteratively. I know matlab can do this. You may want to do some research on it.
The other option is to write a python scripting file (.psf) for the parametric study. Check the ABAQUS documentation for that.

Actually I have 50+ parts and more than 600 instances so defining and assigning section every time is a problem. so I need a better way. I have made a seperate input file in which I have made section as welll as material properties. Now I wish to include it in my moedel.

I tried to run the way you mentioned but its not working in my model. can you be little more specific where exactly to write and its prefix or suffix.

Another way out is if you want to study the effect of change in material properties on response of structure, you can model everything (including geometry, material properties, BCs and meshing) in abaqus. Now instead of running it in abaqus CAE create the input file and save it in PC (filename.inp). Now you can use abaqus j=filename command in command prompt and run it. Using this master input file you can modify the material properties in the input files as many times as required and run these files.

Including model or history data from an external file
You can specify an external file that contains a portion of the Abaqus input file. This file can include model and history definition data, comment lines, and other references to external files. When a reference to an external file is encountered, Abaqus will immediately process the data within the specified file. When the end-of-file is reached, Abaqus will return to processing the original file.
A maximum of five levels of nested external file references can be used. UNIX environment variables can be used to specify the file names.
Input File Usage:
*INCLUDE, INPUT=file_name
Basically you can put *INCLUDE anywhere in your input file, try to put it instead of the material definition. Then you define your material in a separate file (file_name in the example above). You should pay attention to the name of your material in the separate file which has to be the same in the section assignment of your main input file.

Once you create your job, lets say job1 and start analysis, the input file will be created in the same directory with the name job1.inp
