Hello folks.
I electrospun a blended polymer sample and annealed to make phase separation. To check if separation really happened, I want to see the sample through TEM.
My sample is web and I'm gonna cut it size by 1mm * 1mm to put it on the grid. However, I'm afraid that it falls off without any fixation or adhesion to hold the sample on the grid.
Can you give suggestions?
Try using the same polymer solution drop on grid which is used for making a web.
Later place cut sample on the grid.
May be it will work
Or you could use a PELCO Slot Grid from Ted Pella and glue a 2mmx2mm piece onto the grid with two-component resin. How thick is the web?
Thanks for your opinions but I managed to freeze the sample by liquid nitrogen and grind it using mortar, then dispersed the particles in ethanol that I could see through TEM.
Now my problem is how to make coss section samples and I'm gonna post new question.
BTW the TEM operator told me not to use paste because electron can't penetrate it. I think that's a exaggerated fact but I'd rather follow the instruction...:)
