The HNBR compound from one of the supplier does not pass any test specifications related to Heat ageing resistance, compression set and media resistance. The media used to test is the blow by condensate at elevated temperature of about 130 °C. But when the HNBR compound from a different supplier is being tested it passes most of the tests. Therefore, I would like to understand the differences in the ingredients between these two HNBR compounds supplied from two different suppliers.

Here is the simplest protocol for deformulation of HNBR:
1. DSC under N2 (Tg -> ACN content),
2. TGA (in high resolution mode) in N2 (volatiles content: plasticizers, processing aids)
3. TGA (in high resolution mode) in air (carbon black and ash contents),
4. EDS of ash (inorganic fillers, if present)
