When I try to use filters in Pubmed, it doesn't show what I want. How can I find all guidelines that contain a specific medication? For example, I want to find all guidelines that contain Diclofenac as a word inside the guidelines, not as a title, etc..? If you do it correctly, it should show you "2014 ACG Guideline for Idiosyncratic drug induced liver injury" So, which way do you use to find this as a word inside the text?
PubMed search will look at titles and abstracts, not the full texts.
Consider using advanced search and MeSH terms.
It does appear Dr.Serdar, but this will take forever because when I use advanced search and MeSH terms I use broader terms instead of specific terms, and this is too time consuming.
Run an advanced search for the name of the drug as A MeSH term in the drop down menu. Looks like this: Diclofenac[MeSH Major Topic]
Then once you are viewing the results, look at the filters on the left of your screen. The first option in the list is to filter by "Article types". Select the "customize" link under that filter and a menu window will appear. In this window, un-select any box already checked and check the term "Guidelines". Click "show". You will have "Guidelines" as a filter option to select in the "Article Types" list on the left.
Click the term "Guidelines" and this will pull them out of your search results list from the original search results, those resources that are guidelines. I actually got one.
You could also use the search
Anti-Inflammatory Agents, Non-Steroidal [MeSH Major Topic] as a broader search.
