Hi everyone, i'm trying to generate Grid on an estuary, but the main problem is that the Land Boundary's scale(.ldb) which i exported from "Google Earth" and "Global Mapper", and imported in Delft3D-RGFGRID, does not seem appropriate, because when i define grids with 500m size, it doesn't match with the Land Boundary and when i try to scale the grids, grid sizes become unreasonable in the orders of 1e-4m. So do you have any suggestions how can i fix this problem?! how can i import the area of interest with the actual geometry or 1:1 scale or any other arbitrary scale? Regards
Yes dear you can save it as kmz then in arc map convert it as what you want

If you have any Map of your area of interest composed of Lon Lat values..Then you have to digitize it and by making polygon layer you can extract the area of your interest..
You can also do it by plotting some Lon Lat points surrounding your area of study and by using the minimum area covered option of QGIS you can extract your area
Another one is
Google map provide the outline feature of many area (such as administrative area and many more)
If you are failed to get any solution about you r
problem..Then just search your area in Google map simply snipe the map with sniping tool and save it..After that
Then open Google earth and overlay the image on the satellite map by adjusting the size with the linear features bounding area of the map and the image(such as road and building,parks)...If you are able to rightly project the image over Google earth map then by creating polygon feature you can extract your area of interest..
Although it depends on your projection accuracy of the image over satellite map...
Some error may be there always...But if there is no way to map then it's an option..
After that you can generate grids over the area.

I'm working on it but the main problem is that i want the coordinates to be in UTM form but the extracted data from Google Earth is Lat/Long and it appears in Global Mapper (then in Delft3D) as UPS. As i have too many points, i need a converter to convert these points to UTM form and edit the .ldb file with new format.

i think you have 3 options: 1.install Global Mapper and open your (.kml) file there and then export it as a (.ldb) file. 2.create your own file by replacing your data in an existing .ldb file but you should convert your coordinates manually in this case. 3.use the existing tools for example if you use the Openearth tools (https://www.openearth.nl/) you can quickly convert coordinates or convert your .kml file to .ldb file using some MATLAB comments.

However, Can you please guide how can I include my bathymetry data to my gird using QUICKIN tool.
I have my data (*.nc) I think I need to convert it in (*.xyz), if so can you please guide in this regard too.
Hi, you have probably reached your destination by now, but the easiest way to create a *.ldb is to use the Delft Dashboard tool. In this tool, you can convert the shoreline directly to a *.ldb
