I have done a cross-sectional study investigating risk factors associated with unplanned adolescent pregnancy where the dependent variable is adolescent pregnancy (planned or unplanned). The study consist of around 12 independent variables or predictors. In order to assess the association between the dependent and independent variables, I assume relative risk may be appropriate as the dependent variable is a common binary outcome. Please suggest how can I estimate this RR using spss?
Nazrul Islam Thank you for your answer. It is risk ratio that I am actually looking for. I have data of 300 pregnant adolescents, of which 248 had reported pregnancy to be unplanned in nature. I have come across many literature that suggests not to use odds ratio measure when incidence of the outcome is >10% and when the study is not strictly case-control in design. There has been indication of calculating RR through log binomial regression or Cox regression, but I am confused about which one to use. Also any suggestions regarding use of adjusted odds ratio in this case?
