I am trying to solve a steady state conduction problem in COMSOL for heat transfer through a simple steel rod of 0.1mx0.1mx1m to determine the heat flux . I want to give the heat input from the base of this rod in form of temperature but when I try to give the boundary conditions at the base of the rod the only inputs asked to enter are the General Heat Source Qb(W/m2) or Total boundary Power (W). How should I enter temperature as the input?
You can use temperature as a boundary condition in COMSOL. Please click "the temperature boundary condition" in COMSOL menu and then select boundaries that you want to give temperature.
Hello Hakeem, thank you for taking interest in my problem. I am using Heat transfer in solids physics. I was not getting how to solve problems where only the temperatures are known. Later I found out that there are different types of boundary conditions which can be input depending on our needs. I was using the heat flux condition previously because of which I was not able to solve my problem.
