I would like to prepare powder of microbial cellulose. I have some problem for drying of microbial cellulose after production of the microbial cellulose pelicles. May I have you comments in this subject.
Freeze-drying (lyophilization) is generally the best drying method available until now for drying organic materials. The time of drying by lyophilization depends on the type of material and the thickness of sample.
For sample found in Petri dishe or glass bottle for exampl, the sample thickness preferably should be less than 1 cm. As the sample thickness increases the drying time increases.
