I am doing project on conversion of hydroxyl group of polybutadiene to carboxyl group. So is there any procedure which can be carried out on lab scale?
React with an anhdyride seems an obvious solution. More complex if you want to convert the end group itself.

I agree with Rame reaction with succinic anhydride can give you the desired effect. ANother possiblity to use citric acid and make esteridication reaction catalyzed by acidic condition.
I agree with bothRamesh and Dr. Abdelkader. Both are very appropriate. However, you have to check hazards, if ay, for HTPB reaction as it has one use as propellant binder.
