how can i use STATA or SPSS to analyze the data
There is more detail required to suggest something. Is it the same sample? If so the independent sample t test would be viable to see if mean scores differ in a statistically significant way...

actually the outcome is stress scores as measured by various questionnaires such as DASS-21
other factors include Gender, religion, year of the study of the students and other demographic factors.
the population is the same but the samples are different as due to confidentiality we did not give the students a code.
so now i have two cross sectional studies with a numerical outcome and there is no way to match the individual score at the two occasions.
Maher, if those two samples seem to be representative to the student population you can run a t test (compare mean scores for stress) and then you can suggest if levels of stress differ significantly at time point 1 and 2. You can also run t test to see if there statistically significant differences across gender and other demographics.
