I used 0.5% PEO (Mv=300, 000) solution over a plexi-glass surface. On cooling it got stuck to the surface and is extremely difficult to remove. Can anyone suggest, how to clean the surface from the polymer.
Plexi-glass is PMMA, high MW. As long as you stay away with most organic solvents you will not damage it. I expect just water doing the job, preferably cold water, at least not hot, as hot water is a non-solvent (the switch to the change in solibilty is the cloud point, which is dependent upon the MW). In the polymer hand book I saw also aqu. K2SO4 (0.45 M > 45ºC) and aqu. MgSO4 (0.39M above 45ºC) being advised.
