I am reading online that an unpublished work is cited exactly as published works: authors, title and "unpublished work". However, what happens if I want to cite some results that we are getting but we haven't even started discussing the title nor the authors' order, yet?
Is that possible?
I think that a document that does not exist should not be cited. I would suggest using appropriate wording in the text of the publication, e.g. "according to our hitherto unpublished investigations ...".

I have done something like this before and as Wolfgang R. Dick says, the way I used is to say "In our unpublished data, we found..." or something like that.
