Nevertheless, I do not understand the name of the authors. This is neccesary since I want to reference this in an article for Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology (CBP, Elsevier). Thanks.
This is the complete citation given and should be cited as is, with the exception of the format which might chance according to the journal or other document you are writing:

Guiry is clearly the surname of both authors (they might be brothers, for instance, or father and son, and do not forget that double surnames are only common in the Spanish and Portuguese tradition, and even more so in Latin American countries).
In some journals, this reference would become
Guiry, M.D. and Guiry, G.M. 2015. AlgaeBase. Online http://www.algaebase.org (downloaded November 2, 2015)..
and in others
Guiry, M.D.,G.M. Guiry, 2015. AlgaeBase. available at. http://www.algaebase.org; dowloaded on 02 November 2015
variations on this are many, just follow the instructions to authors (some journals for instance put these citations as footnotes, while some do not admit them at all (these are luckily getting rarer and rarer).
