I am working on photocatalytic degradation of pharmaceutical organic compounds using different TiO2 based composite photocatalytic system. In this degradation reaction how i can calculate the quantum efficiency of the particular catalyst?
You use UV irradiation in your degradation ?
Sarah Bouhadoun, Yes i will use UV (mercury lamp) and visible (tungsten halogen lamp) irradiation for degradation.
i think you can calculate efficiency like this :
number of degraded molécules/s per number of adsorbed photons/s
Sarah Bouhadoun..Thanks for your information. Can you please elaborate it? like how to measure number of absorbed photons?
1 photon = h*c/ landa. landa = your irradiation
so for X photons : irradiance light (W/cm²) * surface of the reactor (cm²)*landa (m) per h*c
Sarah Bouhadoun..Thanks for your help. I will try and inform you
you're welcome
you inform me if you have problm
thank you Sarah!!!!

I tried the GC method to analyze the methyl formate but was not able to separate methanol and methyl formate. Does anyone know of a method other than the conventional technique?

I'm researching light sources and their UV emissions. I'm curious if a 50W, 7500K conventional LED lamp emits any UV light. I found that a 200W tungsten lamp can emit up to 1.5 mW/cm² at 350 nm....
