I am measuring a strong jet with an ADV velocimeter profiler. I noticed that the probe shakes when placed in the core of the jet. Although, when I made a Fourier transform analysis on the measurements, no potential frequency of the vibrations was found.

I can improve the structure that supports it (only the part outside of the flow), but the probe will always shake (it is at 80 cm from the water surface, so building a stiff structure to not vibrate without perturbing the flow is a demanding task). The mean velocity of the jet is around 2.5 m/s and the flow in the tank has a lot of vortices.

Is this negligible? I would like to know practices to avoid unsatisfactory results due to this phenomenon.
