For example, banks responsible for water rate collecting may have many data about the water use behavior of consumers. How to get these data in time? How to use these distributed data for smart water resource management? Who has some successful case?
1) Using Satellite we can gather and predict rainfall and find if there would be drought or floods.
2) Use of IoT can bring a lot of data from cities about water requirement and water harvesting capabilities of towns of play on daily basis.
3) In the case of rivers getting water through melting of snow, global temperature, and environmental data may be used to predict the amount of water that would be available through snow melting.
RS data is surely a kind of big data, but it's structured data. Big data always mean including non-structured and distributed data.
LoT is a good example of big data utilization. But is there a successful case for water resource management using LoT?

I bring it to you pardon that it is IoT not LoT, Internet-of-Things. To add to ir, most of the big data is unstructured or semi-structured but that is not the case for all. Big data can also be characterized based on volume and velocity also apart from variety as you have already mentioned.
