Many of the frontier markets have failed to move forward and are rather struggling to do catch-up with emerging markets. What's going on? How can the situation be reversed?
The newer knowledge era is responsible for emerging markets. The corruption prevalent has made frontier markets fail to move forward. Situation will be reversed after the collapse of the corrupt.

I come from Vietnam a frontier market so that in my opinion with the experience from Vietnam:
There are 2 things which frontier markets have to pass by to catch up with emerging markets:
1. The institutional quality which is always low and become the abstacle for economic development of these economies
2. The change in labour productivity that is the results of many thing from the technology and something like that
But there are a few studies that do for frontier markets due to the attactive of emerging markets

I think regulators should ensure that listed companies have a minimum float ratio. The high ownership concentration in many frontier markets means that turnover tends to be very low and this can lead to market inefficiency.
