Big data records the detailed informatoin on the characteristics of entrepreneurs and ways of doing busineses over time. It allows researchers to employ socialorlogy theory to examine the relationships between personal traits and ways of doing business.
In my opinion the big data can help in validation of idea or the problem which any entrepreneur is going to solve. It can help in identifying the trends or possible feedback of end users.
Previously, In lean startup methodology of "Eric rice" the entrepreneurs are recommended to show the basic prototype to the customers to review their acceptance and change/continue the idea, as per their preferences.
In my experience of working with one telecom company, we were introducing a new product, we had our own database insights, we used big data to validate our insights/analytics through social sites/reviews data. It increased our confidence to identify the problems in existing products and our solution.
In short,
1- At the end of the day big data will reduce the uncertainty ( As big data will allow reviewing trends/demand of the solution or identification of exact problem) which entrepreneurs have.
2-It will also reduce cost I think as market research is expensive and usually the entrepreneurs do not have that much funding at initial stage.
3- Big data will also help entrepreneurs to identify the exact market where the product is in demand.
4- Its linked with above point, I will make the product launch easy. Surgical targeting can be done with big data to attract the potential customers at initial stage
If we consider a start-up as result of an entrepreneurial mindset. Big data can help start-ups in different strategic contexts. However, I would like to stress its assistance when it comes to creating a brand equity. As it is well-known fact big data analytics is used in terms of audience research. Within this context, segmenting target audience based on the information gained from big data and creating brand stories based on this information which is overlapping with the features of segmented audiences might allow start-ups to gain market authority.

Brian Barnard Although there are many sources of data, but yes they have access to open access data, specially the social media sites, user profile analysis level data can be extract from social media sites like Facebook/linked-in/research gate/Instagram/twitter etc.. I think ability to covert the un-structured data into something meaningful is the real question.

It seems to me that the analysis of large collections of information collected in Big Data database systems will have a significant impact on the development of entrepreneurship research. First of all, the analysis of large data sets Big Data will improve data analytics on cloud computing platforms, the use of computerized Business Intelligence applications as supporting business management processes.
The issues of the use of information contained in Big Data database systems for the purposes of conducting Business Intelligence analyzes are described in the publications:
Dear Brian Barnard I am totally agreewith Muhammad Farooq at this point. Several sources of data exist. However, transforming data into structured format might be a problem.
In addition to this, intellectual and economical capital problems might exist. For instance, an entrepreneur might not have the skills of data harvesting and analysis even though s/he knows that this process will add great value to business or hiring someone for this job might be a problem for beginner level start-ups since economical capital has been limited.
Big data capturing the activities of emergency responders, for example, presents fascinating new opportunities to investigate entrepreneurial learning behavior, such as experimentation, bricolage and pivoting in response to a variety of routine or non-routine events. It allows dynamic modeling and process studies of these phenomena. Incubators, research parks, software development companies, and other existing organizations and communities represent settings where the capturing and mining of micro-activities and events has created unprecedented opportunities for investigating entrepreneurial behavior. This new 'big data' world presents both opportunities and challenges. Exploiting related opportunities requires new research skills and capabilities.
Data plays an important role in every business. An entrepreneur must consider data at least to know "where he/she is in a particular business" and things to work out for further improvement
as we know there is new way to take a decision and all need the data for this purpose , therefore , today we need more and more review the important of big-data and how the entrepreneur can deal with the huge data and how to analysis these date. i advise all of us to study the Hadoop system .
