How often have you noticed the influence of the kangaroo court at the university? In which cases? Could you define it in percentage?

Thank you very much for your answer! I waited long time. It could mean that the question is not clear or ... not interesting or... inconvenient. I am interesting in the situations when the group of people decides about the academic career of somebody and the judgement of the scientific achivement of the researcher/ professor is based only on the subjective opinions of the members of the committee, not on the facts.
When you say "decides about the academic career of somebody" this sounds more like a human resources question than one of law or procedure. Whilst the scientific achievement of the research is an important factor in the academic career of a researcher an equally important consideration when hiring is whether the applicant is a good 'cultural fit' for the organisation. Often this means an assessment of personality which is of course subjective. This may come down to a simple question of "can I work with this person?" It should be remembered that researchers do not work 'solo in a silo' but rather as part of the team.
Indeed! In normal situation the cultural fitness is very important for every organization. But what if the the weak managers have to decide about the strong one in an independent organization? I think about the case when professors (in the humboldtian model of the university) with very little achievements have to decide about the future of the young researchers with longer list of important publications. About the case when the applicant has higher IF as the members of the commision/ decision-makers. Looking from the perspective of the group- you are right. They don't like the stronger and they will not work with. And they will be not interested in the cultural/ organizational fitness becase the academia will be always independent (or they think they are independent).
A Smart up and coming researcher will show her or his enthusiasm for co-authorship of publications. Part of joining a team is showing what benefits we can bring to the team members. Selling ourselves and relentless self-promotion is the name of the game these days.
