My student is working on simulation of FCC unit in petroleum refinery. A builtin process model of FCC is used to simulate the FCC along with a fractionator in Aspen Hysis. The output from the fractionator is to be used to develop a CO2 capture model in Aspen Plus. The project requires an integration of the two flow sheets, the Aspen Hysis flow sheet and Aspen Plus flow sheet.

In aspen HYSYS during the selection of thermodynamic packages by clicking the add option, you will get a small drop-down at the right side of the add button to change the properties from Aspen HYSYS to Aspen properties.
Hello, I have a similar question. For example I need to do solids reactions but Aspen Hysys only allows defining solids as Hypothetical Components and I have no idea how to define a reaction such as CaO(s)+CO2==CaCO3 (s) in Aspen Hysys. Do you have any practical answer? tnx
