Dear Colleagues,

I have a number of questions on the above topic that I require some assistance to be addressed in order to gather some insights for my research.

1. What are the challenges involved in sampling, transportation of samples from field to lab and testing of waxy hydrocarbons that exist in multiple phases, e.g. live oils and gas condensates?

2. Are there standardised sampling and testing methods for these?

3. How can the production chemist or PVT Analyst maintain the integrity of the subsea samples where the field is located in the deep offshore and far from the terrestrial laboratory, especially when it is a third party facility?

4. What is the maximum time that a paraffinic fluid sample can stay between collection and analysis for its results to be acceptable for wax content and WAT predictions?

I would really appreciate as many responses as possible from flow assurance engineers, production chemists and other professionals from industry and academia involved in such tests.

Cheers.

Bassey
