Are you separating these in your articles, papers, reports, etc.?
I understand many researchers are not separating these terms in their articles, papers, reports, etc. Can you please put more focus on this interesting and important discussion?

To me nomenclature refers to the practice of naming organisms, or objects; symbols are signs, pictures or letters from e.g. the greek alphabet that are used as replacements for words or concepts, mostly in figures or mathematical contexts; an abbreviation is a shortening of a word; an acronym is an abbreviation created by e.g. the first letter of each word in a string of words

I recommended you to use SNOMed CT for categories and identify things.
