I am designing a crowbar but I am not fully aware of its construction and function. can anyone sent me a brief note on crowbar circuit. how it works and what happens when overcurrent condition is faced by a generator protected with crowbar protection? i mean which part of crowbar is affected by the fault and how to trigger it in such cases.if diagrams are available then it will enhance the topic/

Fuse dimensioning is to prevent the crowbar circuit from destruction. So, regarding overcurrent conditions, only the fuse is affected. But it will blow when the overcurrent exceeds the design ratings.
