in the sol-gel auto-combustion synthesis we carry on the complete reaction on the hot plate till to get the final product, others suggest to take the gel into the oven or furnace to fullfil the reaction: iwant to know the differences and concerning the first synthesis( on hot plate) could we go directly to charecterize our product(as-burnt) without further calcination at high temperatures.! please would you mind clarify some détails on this topic. thanks in advane
Hello, the best way for sol-gel auto-combustion synthesis, is using a hot plate with continuous stirring at a constant temperature, then after the sol-gel gets rises a furnace can be used to increased the stabilization of the gel.

An aqueous solution containing the desired metal salts and organic fuel forms a gel through a sol–gel process. Thereafter, the gel is ignited to combust, yielding a voluminous and fluffy product with large surface area. Within the hot plate complete reaction is not preferable
