Perhaps there is no need to go through that step prior to xylan production from bagasse. Most of the methods available for xylan extraction should be able to deal with the "wax" as it should very small. If you are thinking of an industrial process, de-waxing is just another step. You want to minimise the steps as much as possible for your process to be economically viable.
