Teacher oriented inquiry is a mechanism many schools in NZ are using to help teachers get better at what they do. Leaders in schools often work with teachers to support this inquiry work. I am interested in investigating how leaders can work with teachers to create conditions that support rigorous inquiry.
EQUIP (Electronic Quality of Inquiry Protocol) is an online instrument that can freely be used. It is designed to measure the quality and quantity of inquiry-based instruction in k-12 classrooms. I effectively used it for my PhD research. It is the most comprehensive instrument that I am aware of and is fairly easy to use once you go through the online seminar on its use.
