1. Requires coordination between members and every member's action influence the goal
2. Goal achievement is a solo effort. Solo achievements add up to group credits
I am looking for any frameworks or literature that has has studied how the construct of 'control' and 'cooperation' works in groups.
Hi Ameya! Have you already checked the literature about self-managed work teams? The amount of control had shown a significant effect on performance. Employee Involvement (EI) theories also include your concerns. I shortly worked with this paper: Jensen, J. M., Patel, P. C., & Messersmith, J. G. 2011. High-Performance Work Systems and Job Control: Consequences for Anxiety, Role Overload, and Turnover Intentions. Journal of Management. You might consider looking at the cognitive science framework of particiaptory sense-making, which focuses on how multiple people interact through time to co-create emergent and dynamic meaning. I am also working on creating a new qualitative coding and analysis technique for quantifying interaction dynamics in collaboration to be able to tease apart some of these issues about control and quality of collaboration.
