Hello! I want to do the all antioxidant activity but the reagent show no blue color with ascorbic acid dilutions. Why?

The reagent made of (ammonium heptamolybdate, sodium phosphate and sulphuric acid) made up to the volume of 100 mL by deionized water does not change to blue color when added in ascorbic acid dilution. kindly inform me about the reason. I am using fresh ascorbic acid.
