I am working on environmental and financial performance analysis of selected companies in India while reading several research papers i observed that environmental performance have been measured using content analysis and for measuring financial performance data has been extracted from annual reports.Can i apply panel regression after following content analysis for measurement of one variable.Please clarify.
In general, content analysis is a qualitative method that first defines a codebook, and then counts the codes that are detected in each case (e.g., each location or each company or each report, etc.)
If you have enough cases, you might be able to do regressions on the counts from this coding process.

Content analysis is purely a qualitative technique of analysis but with some quantitative attribute which are obvious in counting and measuring instances, then the qualitative assessments focused on interpreting and understanding through coding words, themes and concepts.
Yes, you can use statistical analyses such as regression. However, this depends on the data you have especially when you have sufficient number of cases. Cheers!
