Paul Leung's research group, as with traditionally designed quantitative studies, includes demographic data on the traditional categories of race, gender, and often socioeconomic class. The level of concern in qualitative research studies is hopefully, the reporting level, which may indicate that there are clear gender differences, for example, in the findings in areas such as employment - not one or two women reporting on gender statistics in supported employment. Also, the family groups have kept in TASH (The Association of Persons with Severe Disabilities) to
a reporting level of two Latino families in the late 2000s, and also do not share research itself for review. Then side-by-side, advocates in ethnic areas are on fourth to six type variation, with major groups, such as Eastern and Western Europeans left on their own. Well, the original introduction to gender in caring in the US family support studies involved Dr. Rannveig Traustadottir, one of Europe's leaders in gender and disability, now located at the University of Iceland. Her book chapter (Ch. 13: The meaning of care in the lives of mothers of children with disabilities, 185-194) can be found in Life in the community from way back in 1991 (Taylor, Bogdan & Racino, 1991) in a national study of US organizations supporting people with severe disabilities in the community.
