We performed the transcriptome analysis to find the genes induced by flavonoids (quercetin and fisetin) in B. subtilis. The data have been deposited at the web site (BSORF KEGG Expression Database; http://bacillus.genome.jp). The data sets (ex0001870 and ex0001870) can be analyzed by a Java-based application, KegArray. We published papers reporting the gene regulation by the flavonoid-responsive transcriptional factors (Hirooka K, Danjo Y, Hanano Y, Kunikane S, Matsuoka H, Tojo S, Fujita Y. J Bacteriol. 2009 Jun;191(11):3685-97. doi: 10.1128/JB.00202-09; Hirooka K, Kunikane S, Matsuoka H, Yoshida K, Kumamoto K, Tojo S, Fujita Y. J Bacteriol. 2007 Jul;189(14):5170-82). 

Although it is interesting, we have not studied the synthesis of antifungal compounds derived from Bacillus species and the gene regulation involved in their synthesis. To my knowledge, Dr Inaoka reported the gene regulation involved in the synthesis of neotrehalosadiamine, an antibiotic compound produced by B. subtilis (Inaoka T, Ochi K.

Biosci Biotechnol Biochem. 2011;75(4):618-23).

Thanks a lot for your response. I wish to explore if any possibility exists to collaborate and undertake work in this area.

We are in the process analyzing B. subtilis strain that is very effective in killing Fusarium especially FOM and FS.  We don't have a genome sequence but we are working on this.
