i'm working on progressive damage of Glass/Epoxy composite pipes.
Because of plane stress condition, I use Abaqus default damage criterion (Hashin). The problem geometry is the composite ring subjected to tensile load by two split disk according to ASTM D2290 (Like attachment).
I have encountered a serious problem. After complete FEA simulation, i export force-displacement curve which is very different from test results. peak load of tests is about 25000 N while FEA peak load is 3500N .... the important note is that the HSNFT=0.05 and that means force must be more than 3500N .....
I am very confused ...
