Power of prayer  & meditation to me is a physical well being process of every human beings in any part of the world.But the very basic essence is that it calls for almost good faith & total surrender  to whom so ever for effecting the mode of our concentration .

Quite often we lack behind due to our natural comprising of Anger,Greed,Attachment,Jealousy ,Ego & such other temperamental factors .

With this for prisoners with mild intellectual disability can get cure with the energy forces of mind under controlling center forces of the brain .If such person is positive ,responsive he may certainly receive a vibratory forces which can help him to cure his mental obstruction.

It is possible to discuss mindfulness with any population. Engagement requires tailoring your approach and the type of practice for each individual. I'm sure there is lots of literature on the use of mindfulness in prisons (the military use it, so I don't see why not).  For a start, try locating A systematic review of mindfulness intervention for individuals with developmental disabilities: Long-term practice and long lasting effects by Hwang and Kearney (2013). Intellectual level is not really relevant to mindfulness, and I think you may have a hard time in finding scientifically sound studies on this. It should not, I think, be used to try to make people more intelligent, just more awake.

thanks everybody. the most relevant studies I found so far are the studies from Nirbhay Singh and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in Massachusetts Correctional Facilities by Samuelson et al.
