Hello

I have not worked on A. dealbata but have germinated many many many A. cyclops seeds. I tested a variety of methods including hot water, acid scarification and breaking physical dormancy (both through nicking and sanding of seeds with sandpaper) and found sanding of the seeds to result in the highest and quickest germination.

Several others have also successfully used acid scarification techniques.

If you would like more information - please feel free to email me and I can send you the results of my germination trial - and pass on one or two papers with information on germinating Acacia seeds through acid scarification as sanding is quite tedious.

Boiling water in a jug, place acacia seeds into water and leave overnight to cool. 

The heavy ones which sink are viable, the floaters are usually not viable

We have grown this species plus 30 others as my husband was responsible for reforestation projects in Australia.
