We have used A2 viruses expressing the F and G proteins from several A and B strains during infection in BALB/c mice. However, we do not see much viral load from the B strain viruses in mice. These strains do however induce protective neutralizing antibodies. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your answer. RSV B strain used in your lab is purchased from ATCC or you isolated it in the lab? Can it induce weight loss or mortality in BALB/mice?
We engineered it and recovered them using our reverse genetics system. They don't appear to cause any mortality or weight loss in mice. The viral load is low and their no perceivable histopathology.
