I'm trying to install it but it seems the installation process cannot be completed. I follow all the instructions in the .txt doc but still, the .exe file does not run. Has anyone succesfully installed and tested it?
I didn't find it very useful anyway, not nearly as accurate as some other software. If you are looking for extremely accurate, failsafe free animal tracking, the best is ImageJ with the MtrackJ plugin. However, it is manual tracking so you have to click on each frame... But it is free and in my opinion more accurate than any computer can be because you control where it says the animal is for each frame. However all your output is in xyz format so depending on what you want to get out of it it may not be applicable. I wrote ms Excel macros to get everything I needed.
Thanks! I think, however, that this would not be a solution in my case since I have more than 600 videos, 20 minutes each, 20 fps, so doing everything manually would be a bit painful.
I was thinking of using Zootracer to track dolphin movement patterns from a drone to make a track of their movement to then download their movement track onto a map maybe through ArcGIS
It works in my computer too. According to the releasenotes of zootracer, additional files needed for operation all have 248 in their name, which may correspond to the version of 2.4.8. So you have to try OpenCV v. 2. 4. 8.
Thanks @Alvaro Rodriguez, I will have a go at it. Is it possible to implement 3D tracking with this as well (using 2 or more cameras), or is it strictly 2-dimensional?
@Alvaro Rodriguez I tried ToxTrac but since the videos I have recorded does not have good contrast between background and foreground, detection of the animal is becoming impossible. If you have some suggestions to resolve this, it would be great.
