Before the pandemic, university research structures undoubtedly had contracts and investigation programs with a schedule (containing, among other things, well-defined deadlines for delivering reports or publishing papers). The closure of universities and confinement for several weeks practically cause disruption in these schedules. I would like, if possible, to receive even theoretical reflections from simulations on this issue.

Evans, I am yet to see such a simulation but would be interested in its form/nature and how it might provide evidence-based data on its management within HE institutions. I wonder whether contextual variables may play at role here to ascertain the degree of the impacts, their types and management capacity required. Interesting.

My personal experience is that due to the airports' closure research stays abroad were postponed. Also, the university's budget suffered because dormitories were closed and thus students didn't pay for accommodation.

It is no doubt that this pandemic has created lots of effect on the economic and business activities in all country. Education sector is also inclusive, this makes the research a little difficult in terms of questionnaire distribution and face to face questions and answers. Access to library becomes impossible because of total lockdown of the universities and other higher institutions across nations. However, telephony and online questionnaire filling are generally used during this pandemic.
There are some research work that needed physical distribution of questionnaire because of the targeted population and nature of people .involved in the study.. During this period, I have not seen anything like simulation of COVID -19:on contract

The pandemic has certainly a tremendous effect on academic life, let alone research activities. My campus has taken necessary measures and policies by rescheduling university activities and programs, including the teaching and learning process by online learning to online graduation. It is unfortunate that we have to face the budget-cut for research although it has progressed to about 50%. But the good news is the grant recipients are to be allocated the same award in the next fiscal year.
