I hope i didn't miss somethibf, but in the literature of cross-sex friendships, the focus seems to be solely on male-female friendships. I would think an examination of same-sex, different sexual orientation, or same sex, homosexual friendships would have a lot of information to contribute. Is there reason to think these shouldn't all be examined under the umbrella of cross-sex friendships? Is someone working on this or something related? I'm just trying to expand the bredth of my understanding regarding the processes and functions of friendship.
