I teach a qualitative research methods course to doctoral students and I would like to give them some guidance in this area. I haven't been successful with this software myself.

You can use RG's search function to find several previous discussions of this question, where the consistent answer is that voice to text software is not currently able to work with typical qualitative interviews.
ATLAS.ti allows you to import audio and code directly on the audio. It also allows you to enter text and link it to audio. It does not have any facilities for converting audio to text.
