It´s just a clue but... Do you know the movie "You can´t win´em All" (1970)? The film describes the war between turkish and greek forces after WWI. Some scenes are related to the turkish railroads of those years and to the armored trains used to fight greeks and anti-AtaTurk fighters.
Perhaps you can find more information searching the name of the historical adviser of the film
Dear colleague, one more clue might be the topic of the Anatolian and the Baghdad Railways built by the Germans (1888 - 1914). Particularly, it included the project of a bridge over the Bosphorus. It was designed to function both as a railway bridge proper and a fortress with rotating steel towers with guns. The Germans intended to lock the strait at their will, though nothing came of the project. So the historiography of the Baghdad Railway would be relevant here.
Another prominent example seems to be the railway built in Hejaz at about the same time. There is a latest study: Ozyuksel M. The Hejaz Railway and the Ottoman Empire. L.; N.Y., 2014.
