Has anybody used a Pyruvate Dehydrogenase activity assay on brain tissue?

I am interested in looking at the pyruvate dehydrogenase activity in brain. Abcam has an assay, however all the references are on liver or muscle tissue and cell culture. I was wondering if the assay would be sensitive enough to capture the PDH levels in the brain.
