GWS=TWS-SM-SWE-CWS

SM is soil moisture

SWE is snow water equivalent

CWS is canopy water storage.

SM, SWE and CWS can be obtained from GLDAS.

To estimate groundwater potential you need subtract land surface variables simulated by GLDAS models. GLDAS has four models, NOAH, CLM, VIC, and MOSIAC. i will suggest you to use average of these models for your selected variables from GLDAS data( SMS, SWE, Qs, CWS etc.). You cannot subtract these variables from GRACE directly. You need to convert them to anomalies as per GRACE data. GRACE data has base line of long term average from 2004-2009.

Hi Shoaib, since you have done groundwater potential assessment using GRACE, I have other question to ask you. What did you do next after you downloaded all the netCDF (nc) files form PO. DAAC.

Hi Tafesse, After downloading the netcdf files, you need to convert them to tiff format using any software which is feasible to you like ArcGIS, R programming, Python.

May I ask you which version (RL05, RL06) did you download of GRACE data?
