Good Morning---
This is an exciting lecture to give. I would start the lecture by giving some objectives of the lecture. I would also, at the beginning, ask your audience "So what do you think are some common mistakes?" You will get a feel for your audience. I agree with Caitlin de Berigny's comment to be engaging. As you discuss some of the common mistakes, you might also address what to do and what not to do.
Involve your audience. At the end, I would return to your objectives to make sure that your audience is taking away something from your talk. In summary,
1. Include objectives
2. Involve your audience---all participants.
3. Insert some free slides where you ask participants about their experiences.
4. Use good references and examples.
5. Don't put too much content on each slide.
