In the ever-increasing world population with aggravating climatic changes, it will be difficult to get enough food after ---- years. Both biotic and abiotic stresses are affecting crop production world-wide and it's evident that scientists across the glob are trying their best to resolve this issue. One of the strategies to enhance productivity is GM (Genetic modification) which is receiving acceptance by some countries and restrictions by others. What is your opinion in GM implementation ?. Multidirectional looks are appreciated.
The biosafety issue is the biggest concern limiting the cultivation of GM crops. Wherever such an issue is getting resolved, the road for cultivation of GM crops gets opened. Recently, Golden rice has been approved for commercial plantings in Philippines.

I think GM foods can have harmful effects on the human body and can cause several diseases which are immune to antibiotics. Besides, the long term effects of GM foods might be detrimental to human.
I also think if the GM food is given much attention many low and middle income countries will rely on high income countries for food production.
